It’s not another trailer. It’s something stranger, more creative. It’s a fake TED talk by Peter Weyland (as played by Guy Pearce), courtesy of blastr.com
The clip appears to be created and executed by the people behind Prometheus. Is it a trifle? A clever joke? Or maybe something more important or interesting? I’m not sure
All I know is that this movie keeps getting more and more interesting, and the folks behind its drip-drip-drip release of mysterious marketing pieces are earning every penny of their paychecks. I can’t wait to see it.
Continuing yesterday’s theme, the official trailer for Prometheus was released today. You can view it here. If you viewed the leaked trailer I posted about earlier, you’ll see something familiar. This is being billed as a sort of Aliens prequel, and you’ll notice a lot of thematic and tonal similarity, even if you don’t see any facehuggers. This sort of thing might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I can’t wait.
Regardless, this comes out the day before my birthday, so I consider this a downpayment on a future birthday gift from Mr. Ridley Scott himself. Thank you sir. This movie looks awesome.
